A prime location for cetacean watching in Tenerife
If you want to enjoy the largest whale watching in Tenerife and you are on the island, do not hesitate to visit the Cliff of Los Gigantes and enjoy its surroundings.
Description
Enjoying the sea is one of the greatest pleasures that nature can offer us. It provides tranquility, relaxation, and a boost of energy that recharges our batteries—a benefit that few other places can offer. When combined with the discovery of marine wildlife, which we only encounter on islands, such as the cetacean sightings on Tenerife, the experience can be truly rewarding.
The island of Tenerife boasts one of the most important whale and dolphin observation sites in the Canary Islands. If you sail from Gran Canaria toward this neighboring island, you may, if you're lucky, spot small dolphins gliding across the sea and swimming just a few meters from your boat.
If you haven't had much luck, don't worry. In northern Tenerife, there is a small spot where it's very easy to spot them—this spot is called Los Gigantes.
Known mainly for its large cliffs, Los Gigantes shows visitors the spectacular nature of its landscape that, together with the natural event of seeing whales and dolphins in Tenerife, make it a tourist attraction of the most relevant
The activity begins at the Port of Los Gigantes, where we will set course toward the area where sightings occur. Once aboard, our official cetacean observation guides and monitors will explain everything related to the voyage in the respective language.
Once you have followed the instructions, you will be able to watch cetaceans swimming and gliding across the seas alongside the cliffs of Los Gigantes and Masca—one of the largest cliffs in the world, standing nearly 600 meters high.
After witnessing the sighting of cetaceans on Tenerife, if the weather and sea conditions permit, you will be able to enjoy a pleasant swim in their crystal-clear waters. You can access the sea via the staircase or, if you prefer and for a more spectacular experience, using the lifeguard rope provided on the boat.
After this spectacular and refreshing bath presided over by the cliffs of the Giants, a lunch with paella, fruit and drinks is served
In short, if you want to enjoy a day in the heart of nature, with stunning views of the island's northern coast, don't hesitate to head to Los Gigantes and take in the cetacean sightings on Tenerife—always in the company of family and friends.
