Route Cruz del Carmen – Chinamada – Punta del Hidalgo
One of the most spectacular routes on the island where you will visit the Laurisilva forest whose route reaches the coast visiting the various ravines and cliffs of Tenerife.
Description
We will set off for Monte de las Mercedes—one of the island's most famous, busiest, and most spectacular routes.
We will set out from the Cruz del Carmen—a historic crossroads located within the Anaga Rural Park, regarded as one of the finest "balconies" from which we can enjoy stunning views of the valley. We will then cross the spectacular Laurisilva forest, known as the "lung" of the Canary Islands and one of the oldest forests in the world.
An authentic living natural museum where exclusive species with exceptional and unique biodiversity have managed to survive that will transport us to the tertiary age
We will visit Chinamada, a small village of Guanche origin, perched on a ridge between two ravines, renowned for its well-preserved cave dwellings, which remain inhabited to this day. We will also pass through a farm of native purebred sheep—a woolless breed originating from Africa.
A local chef will prepare a magnificent feast for us. We will conclude our excursion in Punta Hidalgo, a small fishing village where we can enjoy fantastic natural pools.
